Nishit Shah reports: 'In June we had a true Canadian summer BBQ hosted by Sunil Khimasia (subject/years1979) & his wife Sucha at their beautiful home in Toronto. It was a smaller event than usual but included some first timers to alumni gatherings. Everyone had a wonderful time - enjoying the food, drinks and
generous hospitality of the hosts.'
The next event will be Summer Delight at Georgian Bay on Saturday 23 August 2003 to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the formation of the Toronto chapter. A day long event in Midland, Georgian Bay - only 90 minutes away from Toronto with lots to do and see. For more details contact Nishit Shah.
Alumni in Canada should contact Nishit on nishit.shah@usa.net

Penny Mansoura reports: 'In April the Hellenic WGA held elections for a new executive board concluding the informal course of the Hellenic branch of WGA which began on March 2001 and led to the Association obtaining a legal entity in Greece.
The new committee members are:
Penny Masoura (President)
Katka Yennimata (Vice-President)
Danae Vardavaki (Secretary)
Yannis Tsiliras (Treasurer)
Elena Athannassopoulou (Member)
Yannis Papadimos (Member)
Alexandros Fourlas (Member)
We have set two new goals:
We aim to increase the number of our members through a series of official and unofficial events. The members of the HWGA will continue to be informed via e-mail but also via the post office for official events.
We intend to promote the interests of the University of Warwick in Greece. A variety of different cultural events such as conferences, seminars etc will serve this cause. These events will aim to cover a variety of different interests among our members but also attract the interest of non-members.
To be able to achieve our goals and fulfil our members expectations we hope to attract sponsors from different fields and organisations but also to enjoy the constant support of our members through their yearly membership fees and their presence in the events organised by us.
For more information regarding forthcoming events and the status of the Hellenic WGA check our website via the WGA website.'

USA
Hilarian Codippily (PhD Economics 1972) reports on the alumni dinner in Washington DC: 'Thanks to the initiative of Prof. Andrew Oswald and the Development and Alumni Relations Office, a group of twelve Warwick alumni met for the first time in June at an enjoyable dinner get-together at The Mayfair, a prestigious hotel in Washington DC. It was then that we discovered that there were as many as fifty Warwick alumni in the Washington area – in various walks of life – some in the World Bank and the IMF and others in a number of renowned institutions in and around Washington DC.
Most of us went down memory lane, recalling the beautiful scenic setting of the Warwick campus nestled in the rolling hills of the Midlands, the notable figures at Warwick, as well as life at Rootes Hall, Tocil Flats, the International House, and the East Site. The excellence of the Library and the Mathematics Institute, as well as the high ranking of Warwick University amongst British universities was noted with interest. The conversation soon progressed to the research activities at Warwick, and Professor Oswald's work on labour economics, macroeconomics, wage determination, happiness and economic performance, and a host of related topics.
It was indeed a great opportunity to get to know each other, and exchange ideas as to how the Warwick Group can develop a more visible presence in Washington DC. In this regard all agreed that, for a start, we should make the Warwick Alumni Dinner an annual event.'
Present at the dinner were: Professor Andrew and Coral Oswald, Hilarian and Sheila Codippily, Jung Yeon Kim, Christopher Kubelec, Simon John Wilson, Jeffrey Sandman, Tanya Lagdameo Travers, Patrick Travers, Eric Le Borgne, Gale Pierre, Justin Cole and David Phillips.
