Q. What will my membership fee be spent on?
A. Being a subscribing member of the WGA entitles you to a whole host of services and benefits. See 'Join the WGA' for more details. Your membership fee is spent primarily on improving your Association. However, the WGA is also proud that subscription income contributes towards the scholarship scheme, hardship funds, Warwick Sport, The Students' Union, The Opportunity Fund and various other initiatives to benefit current students, particularly those who are less well-off.

Q. These Annual Fund telephone campaigns that you run – why are you asking me to support Warwick?
A. Dramatic changes in the last few years have seen the end of maintenance grants, the introduction of tuition fees and a new loans system, leading to a massive increase in student debt. Having benefited from a Warwick degree, we are asking you to "give something back" to help future Warwick students. We need to ensure that students from the widest social backgrounds can continue to come to Warwick to achieve their academic ambitions. For more information see the 'Giving to Warwick' website.

Q. Where can I get a copy of my transcripts or get proof of my time at Warwick'
A. Alumni who graduated in or after July 2002 will receive one free copy of their transcript upon graduation. Further copies are charged at £25 for 10 copies. To request a transcript for undergraduate and postgraduate courses you will need to fill in the form on the Academic Office website.

For a copy of your degree certificate please contact Val Biggs on (+44) 024 7652 8102 or val.biggs@warwick.ac.uk

Q. When will the annual membership fee be debited from my account?
A. We will always write to inform you before any money is taken from your account. The membership year runs from October to September and renewals are debited in early October.

Q. What is my ID number?
A. Your ID number is your old student number with an "A" (for alumni) in front of it. If you do not have a record of this number, please contact the WGA office.

A.

Your data is securely held in the University's Development and Alumni Relations Office and will be treated confidentially and appropriately in carrying out the ongoing business of the University.

The data is for the use of the University and will not be disclosed to external organisations, other than those acting as agents for the University.

Data will be used for a full range of alumni activities, including mailing University publications, notification of alumni events and of programmes involving academic and administrative departments, fundraising, networking and for the promotion of benefits and services.

Under the terms of the 1998 Data Protection Act you have the right to object to the use of your data for any of the above purposes.

Q. What do I need to login to the website?
A.

You will need your registration password and your email address to login to the Search for Alumni, Classnotes and Competition areas. To obtain a password you will need to register at http://www.wgaalumni.co.uk/register.html

To Update Your Details you need to use your WGA number, surname and date of birth.

In building the WGA website we have taken measures to improve the security of the site. These measures include using an email address to login instead of your surname as these are more likely to be unique.

To make sure that you can login using your most up-to-date email address you must go to Update Your Details and add/amend your email address.

Your email address will only be used to send you copies of E-Network, our quarterly electronic alumni newsletter and to let you know if there are any events or services which might be of particular interest to you. We will not give your email address to any third parties without your permission.
